HBA Preschool

Heritage Baptist Preschool provides a traditional approach to teaching and learning, cross-subject integration, spiral review, and plenty of hands-on activities.

Our preschool is a safe, loving, interactive early childhood learning program designed to build confidence, encourage achievement, and develop fundamentals necessary for Kindergarten readiness.  Our focus is to actively engage each child by providing them with daily opportunities to grow academically, physically, emotionally, socially, and spiritually.

Christian character is integrated into their lessons. You will find that your child will become more comfortable exhibiting willful obedience, acting kindly toward others, understanding expectations, accepting personal responsibility, expressing thankfulness, responding to others generously, and delivering honest communication.

Language Arts

Our phonics approach isn’t just sight-reading that’s been garnished with phonics. It’s systematic. It’s thorough. And it works. With a solid foundation for developing exceptional reading skills, students begin reading actual words very early.

Once they read words, their newly acquired phonics skills are applied. Phonics is reinforced with daily seatwork activities that include words with special sounds (phonics rules) and sentence comprehension.

Numbers

HBA teaches the basics of counting, number recognition, and number concepts. Four-year-olds learn number concepts, before-and-after, and largest-and-smallest for numbers 1–20, as well as simple addition facts like 1 + 9.

Four-year-olds begin to learn the basics of health and safety. Students also learn about community helpers and simple safety rules, the beginnings of American history, and children around the world.

HBA students are given opportunities for acting out drama and nursery rhymes. They participate in cutting, pasting, coloring, tracing, drawing, and music.

Bible

The Word of God is taught from the heart of the teacher into the heart of the student. Students receive daily lessons, preparation tips, Bible doctrinal drills, hymns, choruses, and Scripture memory to assist parents in imparting a biblical worldview from an early age.
