Do you have certified teachers? Is Heritage accredited?All of our teachers are certified. They keep up to date on their profession by attending a minimum number of hours of continual professional development. We completed our accreditation May, 2023 by the Tennessee Association of Christian Schools and SACS (Southern Association of Colleges and Schools). We are registered as a Category II school under the state of Tennessee.

What is the faculty/student ratio.Our overall faculty/student ratio is one teacher per10.5 students. Our largest classroom is 15 students, our smallest class is 9. Philosophically and practically, we will rarely go over 15 students in one classroom. Our preschool (K3 and K4) classes average 10.5 students per classroom.

Are teachers and administrators accessible?Yes! We encourage parents to interact with our teachers and support staff. We see education as a partnership between parents and educators. If you have a concern, question, or suggestion, we want to hear it. Teachers will often interact with parents after school. Teachers and parents also use apps to communicate information. If necessary, please call the school office to set up an appointment with the teacher.

Are all students members of Heritage Baptist Church?No, in fact, many churches are represented in our student body. Our identification as a Baptist means that our school's teaching is based on orthodox biblical Christianity. We earnestly hold to biblical moral values. The entire faculty and all parents of students at HBA agree to sign a statement indicating their support of a biblical worldview.

What curriculum does HBA use?We use a variety of curricula, choosing the best textbooks from the best providers to meet our learning objectives. Our teachers do an excellent job evaluating curricula, supplementing it in a variety of ways, making sure our students receive a rigorous academic preparation for college and work in the 21st century. We commonly use aBeka and BJ Press publishers.

May parents get involved at Heritage?Yes, please! We love parent volunteers and couldn’t get by without them. A group of parents volunteer consistently monitor the lunch room Wednesday. It gives teachers a nice break! Some parents volunteer to read books for small groups reading hour. Teachers may also look for parents to help with field trips, room parties, classroom projects, and school events throughout the year. We have amazing parents that enjoy showing their appreciation during Teacher Appreciation Week.

Is financial aid available?Yes, we have limited funds available to help families with a demonstrative financial need. We also provide some of the best tuition rates for families with more than one student. It is best to begin applying for scholarship in March. We often, but not always, run out by the time we begin a new school year in August.
